Agricultural activity is key to the economic development of rural areas. It also has a direct impact on the environmental conditions of the region.
Currently, farms must comply with obligations arising from legislative requirements and standards related to good farming and environmental practices. Therefore, our sector faces the significant challenge of achieving optimum farming conditions, both in terms of sustainability and competitiveness, whilst ensuring sound economic, environmental and health outcomes.
Agricultural technical support, which promotes the use of new techniques and products, is the way forward for achieving these goals.
The Agricultural Technical Department at Las Marismas de Lebrija SCA Cooperative has the necessary human resources and technical means to deliver quality agricultural technical advisory services to farmers. Our technical team, made up of field and crop technicians, has the necessary skills, specialisation and experience in the different crops grown in the area.
The Agricultural Technical Department is comprised of 30 technicians – Agronomists, Agricultural Technical Engineers, Agricultural Engineering graduates and Agricultural Technicians – who provide the following services:
Management and processing of documentation
Registration in the Register of Producers Specialising in Integrated Production of cotton, industrial tomatoes and sugar beet; handling of documentation required to comply with traceability, quality and integrated production standards, including field logbook.
Monitoring crops
Our crop consultants will monitor the main crops cultivated in this area (cotton, sugar beet, industrial tomatoes, cereals and horticultural crops). They will also be involved in pest and disease control, fertilisation, irrigation, planting and harvesting activities.
Management of Cooperative’s nursery
Registration in the Register of Producers Specialising in Nursery Plants, where various plant species are multiplied and produced.
